Private Patients
The vast majority of my work is done within the NHS. However, I see a small
number of patients privately to conduct assessments and deliver therapeutic
work that is not possible within the constraints of NHS working. This can be in
person, in Exeter, or online.
An Initial Psychiatric Assessment involves a comprehensive clinical meeting with a young person and their parents/carers. Typically, this lasts 2 hours and is concluded with a detailed report written to your GP, with advice and recommendations.
In my Therapeutic Work, I combine family and individual approaches in time-limited interventions (typically 6 to 8 sessions) to help young people and their families.
NB. I cannot see cases where there is a significant level of physical or psychological risk, which is always best managed in the NHS. I can only accept cases where I receive a referral from another medical professional (typically the patient’s GP).
